36. Action of Vaasi

Verse 36

தானென்ற நாமமதை மவுனம் வைத்து

தமர்வாசல் தனிலிருத்தி மைந்தா மைந்தா

கோனென்ற இம்மூலவெழுத்தினாலே

குருபாதந் தன்னிலையுங் கூட்டி வைக்கும்

வானென்ற வாசியுந்தானடங்கிப் பாயும்

வஸ்தான வஸ்து வென்று வணங்க வைக்கும்

கோனென்ற குண்டலினியின் குறியைக் காட்டும்

கூசாமல் மவுனத்திற் கூட்டும்பாரே

Translation:

Keeping the name, Self, in the silence

Holding it in the threshold of the superior, Son, Son!

Through this letter of the origin “im”

It will take you to the gurupaadam, the state of the Self,

The vital breath, the vaasi will flow under control

 It make (one) salute (it) as the supreme entity

It will show the sign of the kundali, the supreme

It will join (you) with the silence without any hesitation, See.

Commentary:

Subramanyar is talking about vasi’s effect in this verse. Vaasi yogam is regulating the breathing pattern.  When the omkara is uttered as a, u, m during this process the m or the unuttered letter causes vibrations inside the head, in the region of sahasrara.  This effect is due to the vaasi.  Subramanyar is describing the actions that occur within the skull, here.  The vital breath will hold the Self, the jiva, in the silent state.  Through the letter “im” it will take it to the threshold of realization, to the guru paadam, the entrance of sahasrara.  It will make the soul praise the Divine, the Ultimate Reality, as the supreme entity, vasthu.  It will show the nature of kundalini in whose company it traverses the sushumna nadi and hold the Jiva in the state of supreme silence, the state of realization. 

வாசி யோகம் என்னும் பிராணாயாமத்தில் ஓம்காரத்தை அ உ ம் என்று உச்சரிக்கும்போது, ம் என்னும் சப்தம் தலையினுள் அதிர்வுகளை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது.  இந்த சப்தம் சுவாசத்தினால் நிகழ்த்தப்படுகிறது.   இந்த பயிற்சியின்போது தலையில் அல்லது சஹாஸ்ராரத்தில் ஏற்படும் செயல்களை இப்பாடலில் சுப்பிரமணியர் கூறுகிறார். 

வாசி யோகத்தின்போது சுவாசம்  குண்டலினி அக்னியுடன் சுழுமுனையில் பயணிக்கிறது.  இது “தான்” எனப்படும் ஜீவனை, விழிப்புணர்வை, மவுன நிலையில் வைத்து ஞானத்தின் வாசலில் இடுகிறது. குருபாதம் எனப்படும் சஹாஸ்ராரத்தின் வாசலில் இருக்கும் ஜீவன், முழுமுதற்வஸ்து என்று இறைமையைப் போற்றுகிறது.  இந்த வாசி குண்டலினியின் குறியை செயலைக் காட்டி மவுனத்தில் இருத்துகிறது.
