38. Dasa deeksha, paazh, supreme bliss that Subramanyar promises.

Verse 38

கோடான கோடி சித்தர் முனிவரெல்லாம்

குணமறிந்து தசதீட்சை தன்னால் மைந்தா

பாடான பாடுபட்டுப் பிழைத்தோர் கோடி

பாழிலே மாண்டவர்கள் கோடாகோடி

வீடான வீட்டையுந்தா னறிந்து நீயும்

மேலாறு தலத்தினுட விலாசங் கண்டு

வாடாத தீபமதை அறிந்து கொண்டு

வந்தவர்க்கே பேரின்பங் காட்டுவேனே

Translation:

Several million Siddhas and Munis

Knowing its nature, through ten initiations, Son

After undergoing a lot of trouble, millions were saved.

Those who died in the void are several millions

Knowing the singular house, you,

Seeing the location of the upper six loci

Knowing about the eternal flame

I will show supreme bliss to those who come with this knowledge. .

Commentary:

Subramanyar is talking about ten initiations or dasa deeksha.  This is a special process wherein through mantra, visualization and consumption of specific preparations the body is transformed from material body to that of the perfected body capable of performing ashtanga yoga.  Arunachala Guru’s Nijanandha bodham lists the following as the changes in the body in the stepwise ten initiations or dasa deeksha:

1.     Sweat emerges carrying with it the fluids that should be removed from the body.

2.     The triple faults of vata, pitta and kapha are removed

3.     Blood oozes out with its impurities.

4.     The skin will be renewed like the snake sloughing off its top skin.

5.     A layer of the body is removed and it will become red in hue.  The five deities will grant all the wish, that is, the five elements will come under control.

6.     Another layer of the body is removed, the entrance of the sushumna will open distant objects will become visible. 

7.     Another layer of body will be removed as a white layer and the body will glow like a flame. 

8.     The body will become weightless, enchantment will occur, the yogin will be able to perform transmigration from one body to another. 

9.     The body will have the supreme effulgence of millions of suns, the eight mystical accomplishments will be attained.  The yogin will reach the actionless state or kaivalyam.  Celestials will serve him.

10.  The body will have the effulgence like the flame, even a knife cannot cut it.  Svaroopa siddhi will be attained.  The yogin will live a life of silence, free from aging, disease and death.

From the above we can see that the body undergoes immense trouble or misery to reach the final stage.  Hence Subramanyar is saying that millions have suffered greatly and reached the final stage.  Paazh refers to supreme void.  Tamil Siddhas talk about muppaazh to triple voids- the maya paazh, bodha paazh and upasaantha paazh.  These are mental states that transform the limited consciousness into supreme consciousness.  Thus, the  above sections describe the transformation of the body and the mind that a yogin goes through before reaching the state of realization- the singular house or the supreme locus.  Through this process the yogi’s consciousness ascends from body consciousness to the unlimited state represented by the six cakra above the six in the body.  The final state of this journey is the state of the lamp, that of paraaparai.  Subramanyar, the supreme consciousness, says that he will show the supreme bliss to those souls you have reached him through this arduous process.

தமிழ் சித்தர்களின் இலக்கு அளவுக்குட்பட்ட இந்த உடல்சார்ந்த நிலையை விட்டு பரவுணர்வு நிலையை அடைவது.  அதற்கு அவர்கள் உடலையும் மனதையும் மாறச்செய்யும் பல பயிற்சிகளை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளனர்.  அவற்றில் ஒன்று தச தீட்சை என்பது.  பத்து படிகளைக் கொண்ட இந்த முறையில் பல கற்பங்களை உண்டும், மந்திரம், காட்சிப்படுத்துதல் ஆகியவற்றின் மூலமும் சித்தர்கள் உடலிலும் மனதிலும் பல மாற்றங்களை ஏற்படுத்தலாம் என்கின்றனர்.  அருணாசல குருவின் நிஜானந்த போதம் என்ற நூலில் இந்த தச தீட்சையைப் பற்றிய விவரங்களை அளித்துள்ளார். அவையாவன:

௧. உடலிலுள்ள கெட்ட நீர் அனைத்தும் வியர்வையாக வெளியேறும்

௨. முத்தோஷங்கலான வாதம், கபம், சிலோத்துமம் நீங்கும்.

௩. கெட்ட உதிரங்கள் கசியும்.

௪. சரீரத்தில் பாம்பு தோலை உரிப்பதைப் போல தோல் உரியும்.

௫. சட்டை கழன்று தேகம் சிவந்த நிறமாகும்.  பஞ்ச மூர்த்திகள் வேண்டியதைத் தருவர், அதாவது, பஞ்ச பூதங்கள் வசத்துக்குள் வரும்.

௬. சட்டை கழன்று சுழுமுனை வாசல் திறக்கும், தொலைப்பார்வை கிட்டும்.

௭. சட்டை வெளுப்பாகக் கழன்று தேகம் தீபம் போல பிரகாசிக்கும்.

௮. சடலம் பாரமற்றதாகும், லாகிரி என்ற இன்ப நிலை ஏற்படும்.  கூடுவிட்டு கூடு பாயும் திறம் வாய்க்கும்,

௯. தேகம் சூரியப் பிரகாசம் பெரும் அஷ்டமா சித்தி கூடும். செயலற்ற நிலையான கைவல்யம் கிட்டும்.  தேவர்கள் சேவை புரிவர்.

௧௦. தேகம் தீபம் போல பிரகாசிக்கும் அதைக் கத்தியாலும் வெட்ட முடியாது.  இதுவே சொரூப சித்தி.  அந்த யோகி இவ்வுலகில் மௌன நாளையில் நரை திரை, பிணி, மூப்பு, சாக்காடு இல்லாமல் வாழ்வார்.

மேற்கூறிய நிலையை எட்டிய யோகி தனது விழிப்புணர்வை இன்னும் விரிவாக்கி முப்பாழ் எனப்படும் சூனியத்தில் மூழ்கி தனது தனிப்பட்ட நிலையை இழப்பார்.  முப்பாழ் என்பவை மாயப்பாழ், போதப்பாழ், உபசாந்தப்பாழ் என்பவை.  இவை விழிப்புணர்வின் நிலைகளே.  இந்த நிலைகள் அனைத்தையும் கடந்த யோகி வீடு எனப்படும் பரவுணர்வு நிலையை அடைவார்.  தனது விழிப்புணர்வை உடலில் உள்ள ஆறு சக்கரங்களுக்கும் மேலே உள்ள ஆறு ஆதாரங்களிலும் பயணிக்கச் செய்துஉச்ச நிலையை அடைவார்.  இந்த நிலையை அடைந்தவருக்குத் தான், சுப்பிரமணியர், பரவுணர்வு, பேரானந்தத்தைக் காட்டுவேன் என்று இப்பாடலில் கூறுகிறார்.
