18. People waste their time discussing the theoretical basis of yoga

Verse 18

போச்சடா ஆறுதலம் வேறீதென்று

புகுந்தெழுந்த மூலமதைப் பார்ப்பார்கோடி

ஆச்சடா மால்வீடு பிரமன்வீடு

அப்புறந்தான் ருத்திரன்வீ டென்பான் பாவி

வாச்சடா மகேஸ சதா சிவன்றானென்று

வாதாடித் திரிவற்பல வண்டர்கோடி

காச்சடா லலாடஞ்சாம் பவிதானென்றுங்

கண் மூக்கு மத்திஎன்று மலைவான்தானே

Translation:

Saying that this is different from the six loci

There are millions who see the origin that arises

The sinner, he will say Vishnu’s house, Brahma’s house

After that Rudra’s house

After that maheswara and Sadasiva’s house

Arguing so millions will roam around blabbering so

Saying that it is the lalaata, sambhavi

The middle of the eyes and nose, millions will get exhausted.

Commentary:

Subramanyar says that millions will waste their lives discussing the theoretical. They will say that the Supreme is the six cakra- the houses of brahma, Vishnu, maheswara, rudra and Sadasiva.  Brahma represents the muladhara, Vishnu the svadhishtana, Rudra the manipuraka, Maheswara the anahata and Sadasiva the vishuddhi.  Some will also get fatigued saying that it is the lalata cakra- the one above the ajna from where the divine nectar flows down, they will say it is holding the Sambhavi mudra- of keeping the eye focused at the middle of the eyebrows, watching the ajna. 

கோடிக்கணக்கான மக்கள் பரவுணர்வு என்றால் என்ன என்பதை அறியாமல் தாம் படித்தவற்றை விவாதிப்பதில் காலத்தை விரயம் செய்கின்றனர் என்கிறார் சுப்பிரமணியர்.  சிலர் பரம் என்பது ஆறு சக்கரங்கள் என்பவர்.  பிரம்மாவின் வீடு என்பது மூலாதார சக்கரம், விஷ்ணுவின் வீடு சுவாதிஷ்டானம், மணிபூரகம் ருத்திரனின் வீடு, அனாஹதம் மகேஸ்வரனின் வீடு, விசுத்தி சதாசிவனின் வீடு.  சிலர் பரம் என்பது லலாட சக்கரம் என்று கூறுவர்.  இந்த சக்கரத்திலிருந்துதான்அமிர்தம் ஊறுகிறது.  சிலர் அது மூக்கும் கண்ணும் சேரும் இடத்தில் கவனத்தைக் குவிப்பது என்பர் என்கிறார் சுப்பிரமணியர்.
