12. The unuttered letter is the Meru, the knowledge, the wisdom, the origin of everything

Verse 12

பாரப்பா இம்மென்ற மவுனத்தாலே

பல்லாயிரங்கள்அண்டம் படைக்கலாச்சு

ஆரப்பா நவசித்தர் அதுதானாச்சு

அருளான மறைநான்கும் அதற்குள் ஆச்சு

நேரப்பா நிஷ்டையொடு சமாதியாச்சு

நீணிலத்தில் உயிர்களெல்லாம் அதனாலாச்சு

மேரப்பா மேருவென்றும் அதற்குப் பேராம்

விஞ்சை என்றும் ஞானமென்றும் அதற்குப் பேராம்

Translation:

See son, due to the silence of the “im”

Millions of universes were created

It become the navasiddha

The four Vedas were contained within it,

It became the austerities and Samadhi

All the lifeforms in this world were created by it

Its name is Meru

Its other names are knowledge and wisdom.

Commentary:

Subramanyar is continuing about the letter “im”.  Among the three letters of the omkara, a, u and ma, the makaara signifies maya or the creative power of the Divine.  Subramanyar says that all the universes, the divine souls, the four Vedas, the austerities, the Samadhi and all the life forms were created by this power of the Divine.  This is also called the meru.  Sushumna nadi in our body is called meru dhandam.  Subramanyar may be referring to this also here.  He concludes saying that the other names for this creative power is knowledge and wisdom.

உலகம் தோன்றுவது ஓம்காரம் என்னும் நாதத்திலிருந்து.  அது அடங்குவதும் ஒம்காரதில்தான்.  முந்தைய பாடலில் உலகம் அடங்குவதைப் பேசிய சுப்பிரமணியர் இப்பாடலில் உலகின் தோற்றத்தைப் பற்றிப் பேசுகிறார்.  இந்த ஓம்காரத்தை அ உ ம என்று மூன்று எழுத்துக்களாகப் பிரித்தால் அகாரம் என்பது பரம்பொருளையும் உகாரம் என்பது சக்தியையும் மகாரம் என்பது அதன் படைப்புச் சக்தியையும் குறிக்கின்றன.  இதைத்தான் சுப்பிரமணியர் இப்பாடலில் அண்டங்கள், உயிர்கள், சித்தர்கள், நிஷ்டை, சமாதி, மறைகள் ஆகிய அனைத்தும் இந்த மகாரத்திலிருந்தும் அதற்கு முந்தைய மவுனத்திலிருந்தும் பிறந்தன என்கிறார்.  மௌனம் என்பது தூய உணர்வு, பரா நிலை என்பதைப் பார்த்தோம்.  அதுதான் கண்ணால் காணும் உலகைத் தோற்றுவிக்கிறது.  இதைத் தான் மேரு என்றும் அறிவு என்றும் ஞானம் என்றும் கூறுகிறோம் என்கிறார் சுப்பிரமணியர்.
