99. Opening the eye of lalata

Verse 99

தானவனாம் நீயிருக்க வேணுமென்றால்

சத்தியமாய் லாடக்கண் திறந்து பாரு

கோனவன்தான் நீஎன்றே அழைப்பார் உன்னைக்

குவலயத்தோர் அடி பணிந்து கூர்ந்து நிற்பார்

வானவா கோளிதை அறிந்து பூஜை செய்து

வல்லமையாள் பாதமதை வணங்கிப் போற்றி

நான் அவனாம் என்று நடுவணையைப் பார்த்து

நம்மென்று பேசியுந்தான் ஆடினேனே

Translation:

If you want to remain as “Self is him”

Surely open the eye of lalaata and see,

They will call you the king

The people of the world. They will stand saluting your feet

Knowing this, the aerial one, worshipping

Vallabhai’s sacred feet, praising them

Seeing the middle dam with the idea, “I am him”

Uttering “nam” I danced.

Commentary:

In this verse, Subramanyar is sharing his experience with Agatthiyar.  Subramanyar’s goal and that of any yogi is to remain with the knowledge “Self is him”.  The mahavakhya Tat tvam asi means this- thou art that conveys this knowledge.  Subramanyar says that to attain this state the lalata cakra should be opened and the nectar that descends should be consumed.  The yogin who reaches this state is the supreme soul.  Everyone will praise him as the king.  Subramanyar says that he remained in this state, with the knowledge “I am Him” dancing with this knowledge.

இப்பாடலில் சுப்பிரமணியர் தனது அனுபவங்களை அகத்தியருடன் பகிர்ந்துகொள்கிறார்.  சுப்பிரமணியரின் குறிக்கோள் “தான் அவன்” என்ற அறிவு நிலையை அடைதல்.  இதைத்தான் ஒவ்வொரு யோகியும் அடைய முயற்சிக்கிறார்.  இந்த நிலையை அடைய லலாட கண் திறக்கவேண்டும் என்கிறார் சுப்பிரமணியர்.  இவ்வாறு திறந்த யோகியை உலகத்தோர் யோகிராஜன் என்று போற்றுவர்.  தான் இந்த நிலையை அடைந்து நான் அவன் என்ற அறிவுடன் ஆடினேன் என்று சுப்பிரமணியர் அகத்தியரிடம் கூறுகிறார்.
